Screened-in-porch Shades

With the heat of the Summer upon us, we have been installing many shades for screened-in porches.  There are three reasons for choosing to put shades on screened-in porches.  Privacy, reduced glare, and reduced heat.

There are two predominant solutions for porches that we find in this market: Basswood Porch Shades and Solar Shades.

Basswood Porch Shades

Basswood Porch Shades are made with fisherman's twine and stainless hardware for use outside. They have a traditional look and can be rolled up or roman folded up.  Here is a sample of a job we recently installed in Charleston, SC.

The shades come in many colors, stains and weaves.  They come with sway cords to control them in the wind.  If they get wet, it is a good idea to let them dry before rolling them up.

Solar Shades

Solar shades are a more contemporary solution made of a very durable man-made material.  The shades are designed to be able to be seen through.  They are made in various levels of openness.  The more open, the more you can see through them; the lower openness factor, the more the reduce heat and glare (and enable privacy).   You can see some great photos of these and get additional information at Melbourne Blind Company.

Use these products on your outdoor porch and keep cool this Summer!

Flowers are for Screened-In Porches. When selecting flowers to place in your screened-in porch, consider plants that do not require full sun, but rather prefer partial shade.

Precisely. Shades are installed for privacy, reduced glare, and reduced heat. It's very helpful for those who love to stay at their porches but don't want to have excessive sunlight inside. Whatever type of shade you'll get, you better ask for professional advice and help during the installation.

I have shades like that in my bedroom. They are amazing, because they can really control how much sun comes into the room. I love being able to make the room dark when I want to nap, but then let all the light in too. http://www.aussiecurtaincall.com.au/shutters---blinds.html

I think like you said bullying not only affect the people around them, but also the work that gets done. The people around you do not need to be harassed at work. I almost feel like it should be in the workers' compensation agreement that there will be no bulling. I feel bad for those that have to deal with that at school, work should feel like their safe place. http://www.robertseberalaw.com/Personal-Injury-Workers-Compensation-Bridgeton-NJ.html

If you decide you want a porch in your yard, you can either construct it yourself or use the services of the screened porch Charleston SC. The screened porches can be extremely sophisticated as well as appealing from the visual point of view and you can use them more often than not all year round.
